Mont Scape L from Oakley brings a wide field of view and a plain frame together in one goggle. This one comes in matte black with a Prizm Sapphire Iridium lens, the darker end of the Prizm Snow range.
Oakley stripped Mont Scape back to what matters. The dual layer conical lens and the forward frame geometry sit close to the face and open the view sideways and down towards your feet. You read more of the slope without moving your head, and the image stays sharp out in the periphery where simpler lenses start bending the terrain. The Vision Rapt face foam is moulded in three dimensions, spreads pressure evenly and stays out of your sightline. The flexible O Matter frame is cast in bio resin and the strap is recycled polyester. Lenses are impact tested at both high mass and high velocity. Prizm Sapphire Iridium sets a blue mirror over a rose base and lets 13 percent of the light through. It is the darker option for sun and clouds, where glare off open snow otherwise flattens the terrain in front of you. It is at its best on bright days over open snow, where light arrives from above and below.
