1948 - the story begins with Robert (Bob) attempting to build a plastic reinforced ski boot. 1962 sees the first plastic boot with laces, with the solution of molding the boot in 2 separate parts. The first modern ski boot appears in 1965, fully plastic with metal buckles. In 1967, Nancy Greene (The Tiger) wins the first world championship with Lange boots, marking the beginning of the Lange era. The Lange girl went viral in 1970, becoming their trademark, especially during the time when Pamela Anderson was a model. In 1971, the world's first competition ski boot is created by Lange. Lange was awarded 3 gold medals at the Sapporo Olympic Games in 1972. The first easy-to-use snow boot puts Lange on the map in 1978. In 1988, innovation starts to emerge; Lange has invented boots you fasten from the back, which more or less becomes the standard.
