You can view our wide selection of paddles for your kayak here at OneOpenSky

Paddles should never be confused with the paddles used by SUP enthusiasts. Paddles have two blades, while SUP paddles have one blade. Now that this is clarified, let’s take a closer look at the features of paddles, and which one suits your specific needs with your abilities.

A paddle is said to be the most important equipment for a kayaker, and your choice of paddle will therefore also mean a lot for your kayak experience. For you could say, what is the use of a kayak if you don't have a paddle to steer it with. However, it should be noted in this context that the choice of paddle for beginners does not mean the same as for the experienced ones. We can therefore offer a range of paddles which we hope will suit your taste and meet your needs. Our main supplier of paddles is Egalis, which has been producing quality paddles for a long time. From Egalis, we offer you both carbon and aluminum paddles, each with their own qualities.

Carbon paddles, which in Danish translates to carbon fiber paddles, are the top of the line in paddles. The carbon construction in the paddle provides you with a stiff and light paddle that offers excellent power transfer to the water. We therefore recommend this type of paddle to experienced kayakers who have a good rowing style.Carbon paddles are not the perfect fit for everyone. The very stiff paddle can quickly cause wrist injuries if you have a less good rowing style. Additionally, the wind in windy weather will take hold of this type of paddle faster since it is so light.

Aluminum paddles are fundamentally very solid and robust. The paddle shaft is constructed of aluminum while the blade is designed from nylon or plastic. This combination makes the paddle super good for summerhouse use for the whole family. Here, you don't have to worry about the condition of the paddle since it is very robust. However, the robust design also makes it a bit heavier, and we therefore do not recommend buying aluminum paddles for everyday use.

Here at OneOpenSky, our fantastic staff is always ready to help you with detailed questions about our paddles. This is due to their long experience in the kayaking discipline. So if you have questions about the paddles and which type suits you exactly, you can find us in Herning and Copenhagen or over the phone - 97 12 29 65. If you should fall in love with one of our paddles, there will be free shipping for purchases over 799 kr, so you don't have to think about unforeseen expenses with a potential purchase.
