The Patagonia W's R1 Air Jkt is a technical full-zip fleece jacket for cold, high-output days. It is made to sit under a shell. This one is black.
The fabric is a 5.7-oz jacquard fleece knitted with hollow-core yarns. The air trapped inside each yarn holds heat without weight. It also leaves the fibre less mass to bind water in, so the jacket dries fast after a hard climb. The knit runs in a zigzag pattern that opens channels through the fabric and moves air. The full-length zipper makes it easy to vent on the move and to strip the layer off when you stop. Shoulder seams are offset so they sit clear of pack straps. A zippered left-chest pocket and two front pockets with zippers hold small items, and quick-drying woven binding finishes the cuffs and back hem. The jacket weighs 295 grams, the fabric is bluesign approved, and it is sewn in a Fair Trade Certified factory.
