Salomon Rio in Smoke Blue/Gold is a snow goggle for the youngest riders on the hill, sized around ages three to six. The frame is compact and flexible, yet the field of vision stays wide, so a child sees the whole run rather than a narrow slot.
The cylindrical lens carries a Flash coating that cuts glare off the snow and lets 25 percent of the light through in category 2, made for partly cloudy days. The lens colour is Gold. A double layer of PU foam with a velvet facing sits softly against the face and blocks cold air without pressing on the nose. The Airflow system draws fresh air in through the frame and pulls moisture out, and that is what keeps the lens clear during slow laps on the beginner slope. The strap is backed with silicone so it grips the helmet instead of creeping up the forehead, and a dual-slide buckle makes tightening quick with gloves on. The goggle weighs 110 grams and is shaped to sit flush against Salomon helmets.
