The Völkl Racetiger GS Master is a GS ski built from World Cup materials. Its sidecut is more accessible, so the ski also suits skiers who do not race on the World Cup. It has an ash core, phenol sidewalls, two full layers of Titanal and a Carbon Band. It comes with the Marker Comp 16 GW Master binding on Marker's 10 mm World Cup plate.
The phenol sidewalls give the ski smoothness and edge precision. A Carbon Band from tip to tail in the center pulls the other way and makes the ski lively and dynamic. The core is solid ash along the full length, a wood Völkl has until now used only in skis for World Cup racers. As the ski bends at turn entry, the fibers stretch and store the tension. At the exit, that energy is released in a controlled way. Tailored Carbon Tips give a more direct tip response and a faster build-up of energy in the front of the ski. The plate has Piston Control, an integrated hydraulic oil piston. The sidecut is 115-67-98 mm, and at 178 cm the radius is 17.5 m. Völkl lists the weight as 2140 g per ski without binding, measured on its reference length.
