LIFA has been tested and developed with professionals who make their living in some of the harshest environments on earth. The LIFA yarn moves moisture away from the skin to the surface of the fabric, where it evaporates. The outer layer is Merino wool for breathable warmth. Helly Hansen calls LIFA Merino its warmest base layer and recommends it for any type of outdoor activity in winter. The fabric is non-itch, and the fit is close to the body. Flatlock seams add comfort and durability. On Helly Hansen's own scale the top scores 6 out of 6 for breathability, 4 for lightness and 3 for insulation. Helly Hansen lists resort skiing, off-piste, backcountry skiing, hiking, mountaineering and camping. Wash inside out with wool detergent. Do not use fabric softener, and do not wring.
