The Oakley Kota Darted Shell Jacket in Pitch Black is an uninsulated shell for snowboarders and freestyle skiers who prefer to manage warmth with their own layering. It runs Oakley's two-layer FNDry laminate rated at 15,000 mm water column and 15,000 g/m²/24h breathability.
There is no insulation in this jacket, and that is the point. Add fleece or a light puffy underneath when it is cold, ride it as a bare shell when it is mild. The seams are critically sealed, and a Hydrofree DWR finish keeps the face fabric from wetting out so the laminate can keep doing its job. A storm flap sits over the waterproof front zipper so water cannot push in along the closure. The hood is fixed, adjusts with drawcords front and back, and carries a laminated brim that holds its shape in sleet. Mesh-lined zipped vents under the sleeves release heat while you keep moving. The snow skirt is fixed, a drawcord sets the hem width, and velcro cuff tabs cinch down over your gloves. The fabric is 100 percent polyester in a regular fit.
- Uninsulated shell: layer it your own way

The Kota Darted Shell suits freestyle and everyday resort riding where you would rather dial temperature through layers than be stuck with fixed insulation.
