Wind driven sports ask something different of a wetsuit than surfing does, and that is exactly where the Hyperfreak Wind 4/3+ Chest Zip Full belongs. It is built from recycled TechnoButter 3 and TB3X and comes in the Carbon/Darkslate colourway.
4/3+ is neoprene thickness: 4 mm across the torso, 3 mm through arms and legs, plus half a millimetre of extra material for warmth. What sets the Wind model apart is the Covert Drain System. Perforated neoprene ankle cuffs work together with the included adjustable ankle straps, so water drains back out instead of collecting in the lower legs. That kills the ballooning effect you otherwise drag around after a wipeout. The rest is classic Hyperfreak. Body and legs are recycled TechnoButter 3, arms and shoulders are TB3X, and the seams are glued, blindstitched and fully taped with TB3X. The F.U.Z.E. chest zip sits behind a 360 degree anti-flush barrier with drain holes. Neoprene is bonded with solvent free Aqua Alpha lamination and carries recycled oyster shells. O'Neill rates the suit for water between 8 and 17 degrees Celsius.
