Cold water is the whole brief behind the Hyperfreak Fire 5/4+ Chest Zip Full. The suit is built around TB4 Firewall neoprene with graphene fibres, closes with a chest zip and comes in the Ranger colourway.
5/4+ is neoprene thickness. There is 5 mm across the torso, 4 mm through arms and legs, and the plus adds half a millimetre more material for warmth. TB4 Firewall is the next generation of O'Neill thermal lining. Its fibres are infused with graphene, which holds body heat in and makes the lining more durable at the same time, without costing stretch. Seams are joined with fluid seam welds, a seal applied over the outside of the seam so water cannot creep through the stitching. Fused super seal cuffs at the wrists and ankles close down tight and slow flushing while you sit and wait between sets. Together that means fewer cold rinses and longer time in the water. O'Neill rates the suit for water between 4 and 11 degrees Celsius.
- TB4 Firewall with graphene: retains body heat
- Chest zip: easy entry and a flexible back
- Fluid seam welds: sealed seams without stiffness
- Fused super seal cuffs: less flushing at the wrists
- 5 mm across the torso: warmth where heat escapes
- 4 mm arms and legs: movement stays intact
- The plus means half a millimetre of extra neoprene
This is a suit for surfers and kiters who stay in the water once air temperatures drop toward freezing. Graphene lining, welded seams and sealed cuffs make it a genuine winter suit rather than an autumn one.
