O'Neill's history
O'Neill has been producing wetsuits for more than 65 years and is today known for being the leading wetsuit brand in the world. O'Neill was founded by Jack O'Neill. Jack was a pioneer in surfing and 1952 opened the world's first surf shop in San Francisco, California. California is known for its high-quality waves. What many do not have "in mind" is that the water temperature is relatively low. This allowed Jack to produce the world's first wetsuit so he could surf all year round - and O'Neill was created. Since the beginning, O'Neill has had a strong focus on innovative solutions, quality, durability, performance, and design. The products are produced at the factory AREA 52 and developed and tested in collaboration with some of the world's best surfers, i.e., Jordy Smith, Cory Lopez, and Tim Reyes.
