The BCA Float E2-25 is a low-profile airbag pack for backcountry skiing and snowboarding. It also suits lift-accessed freeriding and heli skiing, and it runs on BCA's electric Alpride E2 system. This version comes in Black.
Alpride E2 stores energy in supercapacitors that power the compressor when you deploy the airbag. Supercapacitors store and release energy without a chemical reaction, which keeps them fast and reliable in the cold. Add two AA batteries and you can deploy again in the field. The batteries also keep the supercapacitors charged, for up to three months with alkaline batteries and up to five months with lithium. The Alpride E2 is a capacitor of 10 Wh or less, so it is not subject to IATA dangerous goods regulations.
The Side Stash pocket lets you reach a water bottle or skins without taking the pack off in avalanche terrain. Your shovel and probe get their own compartment, and the Back Stash zip keeps your radio and other accessories close at hand. The shell is PU-coated 420d and 210d ripstop nylon that keeps your gear dry, with a 100d Robic Dynatec lining.

BCA is clear that the Float system does not guarantee survival in an avalanche, and that you should get avalanche training before you head out.
