This ankle strap belongs on the left foot. The Burton Double Take Hammock ankle strap in Matty Black is foot specific and compatible with Double Take tongues, so it mounts on the left binding.
On a Burton strap binding the ankle strap is the wide, padded piece that lies over the instep and holds the boot down in the baseplate. It decides how directly your input reaches the board, and a frayed or split strap leaves the foot feeling loose and vague. Every complete strap is made of four pieces: tongue, slider, buckle and the strap itself. What you get here is the strap in the Hammock build from the Double Take system, working alongside Double Take tongues. Burton itself notes that many binding components exist in a left and a right version, so the side is worth checking once more before you start driving screws. This one is the left.
- Left foot: foot specific strap for the left binding
- Double Take: compatible with Double Take tongues
- Ankle strap: the wide padded piece over the instep
- Hammock build: Burton's own strap construction
- Matty Black: matte black finish
- Single part: replaces only the worn strap
This part is for snowboarders on Burton Double Take bindings whose left ankle strap has worn out. It puts the binding back in balance, so both feet get the same hold and the same feel for the board the next time you strap in.
