Dreamstick X2.5 Shorty

The Reedin DreamStick X2.5 Shorty is the short version of Reedin's kite control bar. It has a shorter bar throw, so you can always reach the bar after letting go, and it brings the depower trim closer to you. It is made for riders with a shorter reach.

At the heart of the bar is the Monobloc. It has two channels, one for the flagging line and one for the depower rope, so you can steer and depower at the same time. The front lines and flagging line untwist on their own after every loop or rotation. The flying lines are Dyneema SK99, which Reedin says is 20% stronger and 30% more resistant to chafing than standard Dyneema. A plastifying treatment leaves them with virtually no stretch, and the splices are locked without stitching. Thinner lines mean less drag, tighter kiteloops and a more direct steering response. Bar width adjusts from 43 to 49 cm. The adjuster is kept as light as possible, so the bar has minimal inertia when you spin it. Pull the adjuster out and you reach the leader line trim knots to change your back line length.
