  2. Remove the SUP's valve cover. Most SUP valves need to be pressed down and turned counterclockwise until they are pushed up. The valve system is closed when the valve is pushed up and you can safely start pumping without the air running out again.

  3. Plug in your SUP pump and turn it to the locked position and you're ready to pump. Most inflatable SUPs perform best with an air pressure of 15-18 PSI, but it's worth double-checking on your specific model as it varies from SUP to SUP.

  4. Pump until you have achieved the right air pressure and then install your valve cover, turning it to the locked position. A little extra tip if you want to get in the water faster; Get a Double Action pump. A Double Action pump directs air into the SUP under your pump pressure and pull. So it's twice as fast! With a Double Action pump you start pumping 'double action mode' up to 7 PSI and then switch to 'single action mode' up to the remaining 15 PSI.

  5. Your SUP board is now ready to hit the waves, and you may have even had a little warm-up during preparation, so almost everything is ready! Just remember to attach your fins and board leash.

We take a stand for safety

It's always a good idea to use a coil leash, a safety line. A paddle board can quickly float away from you once you hit the surface of the water and it can be difficult to catch up again. A life jacket or life vest can work wonders because no matter how good a swimmer you are, never underestimate the ride on the water and the changing conditions of nature.
