4 tips for fast and safe packing
Many people have their own way of packing their inflatable SUP. By following our 4-steps, you can be sure that nothing will be forgotten and all your gear will be ready for your next session on the water.
- How to deflate your inflatable SUPFirst, open the air valve. This is done by removing the valve cover, pushing the valve in and turning it clockwise. Next, fold or roll from the nose of the inflatable SUP down towards the rear end. It's a bit like packing an air mattress or sleeping bag, the more air you get out, the easier it will be to get it into the SUP bag. A good tip is that each fold should be approximately as long as the length of your inflatable SUP's fin box. This way you get your last fold with the fin box, so it's easy to place fin protectors before the SUP goes in the bag.
-
Keep sand and dust out
While you're rolling your inflatable SUP, keep an eye out for sand and dust on the surface. Brush it off and pay extra attention around the valve. -
Save your fins
More and more people are packing their fins with the ISUP or rolling them. We recommend that your fins are packed separately. Do not roll your Inflatable SUP fins, they do not benefit from this over time, but pack them separately as they are more fragile than the inflatable SUP. -
Tighten the inflatable SUP bag
Once your inflatable SUP is deflated and cleaned from sand and dust, the next step is the SUP bag. Many inflatable SUP bags have some form of 'tight strap', which allows you to tighten the inflatable SUP extra tight inside the bag. It's always a good idea to use the tight strap as it frees up more space and ensures that your equipment is held securely in place, making it a little easier to unpack.
