The Twin Skin Speedmax 90 Medium is Fischer's flagship skin ski, drawn to the same lines as the race range. Two offset mohair strips in the grip zone give the kick something to bite into, even when the track has gone hard or icy.
Construction is AIR CORE HM Carbon, a core built with air chambers and high modulus carbon. It is the lightest and stiffest layup in Fischer's classic line, and that stiffness is exactly what lets the skin work cleanly instead of dragging. The ski carries an IFP plate, so a Turnamic binding clicks on without screws and can be adjusted fore and aft as conditions shift through the winter. The base is World Cup Plus, the same material used on Fischer's pure race models, treated with Cold Base Bonding for better wax uptake and easier regrinding. A Gliding Sidewall along the edge cuts friction against the track wall. The skin itself is Twin Skin Mohair, and the offset placement of the two strips is where the gain lies: power transfer is more direct than with a single wide skin, and glide is disturbed less. Sidecut measures 41 mm at the shovel and 44 mm both underfoot and at the tail. The Medium flex is aimed at advanced and expert skiers.
- AIR CORE HM Carbon: light, stiff race core
- Offset Twin Skin strips: direct power transfer
- Mohair skin: grip without kick wax
- World Cup Plus base: race material underfoot
- Cold Base Bonding: better wax uptake and grinding
- IFP plate: tool free binding adjustment
- Gliding Sidewall: less friction in the track
This one is written for the classic skier who trains hard and races occasionally but has no interest in spending the morning on kick wax. Race layup, race base and a skin that works precisely around freezing.
