The Völkl Racetiger GS is a race carver for long, high-speed turns with plenty of pressure on the edge. It comes with the Marker rMotion TL 12 GW binding, premounted on Völkl's R-Motion Toolless system.
The tip features Tailored Carbon Tips. The carbon fibers are embroidered onto a carrier material and placed exactly along the stress lines. Fiber thickness and alignment set the stiffness and torsion up front. The result is a light shovel that reacts quickly as you start the turn, and you need less power to steer the ski. A short, flat tip rocker sits up front, with camber through the rest of the ski. The narrow waist adds dynamics and speeds up edge changes. The build combines two full layers of Titanal, 3D.Glass and Völkl's Multilayer Woodcore. 3D.Glass uses folded glass layers in the tip and tail for more edge grip and a livelier rebound. Flat glass under the binding softens the center. In the core, hardwood next to the sidewalls adds power and grip, while lighter wood in the middle keeps the weight down. The sidecut is 115-67-98 mm. At 178 cm the radius is 17.5 m, and the ski weighs 3100 g without binding.
