The Völkl Racetiger GS is an on-piste ski for long, fast turns with plenty of pressure on the edge. It comes with the rMotion3 12 GW binding and is built with Tailored Carbon Tips, two full sheets of Titanal and 3D Glass.
In the Tailored Carbon Tips, the carbon fibres are embroidered onto a carrier and laid along the stress lines in the tip. That keeps the tip light and makes it respond precisely the moment you start a turn. The ski has a short, flat tip rocker with camber underfoot and in the tail. The sidecut is 115-67-98 mm, and the radius is 17.5 m at 178 cm. The narrow waist speeds up edge changes. The core is Völkl's Multilayer Woodcore, with hardwood next to the sidewalls and lighter wood in the centre. The hardwood transfers power and supports the edge, while the lighter wood keeps the weight down. 3D Glass uses folded glass layers in the tip and tail for more edge grip and a livelier rebound.
The rMotion3 12 GW is a Marker Völkl plate binding system for on-piste skis. It gives smooth, consistent drifts at moderate speed and tighter turns with less effort at higher speed. The DIN range runs from 4 to 12.
