The Navis Freebird is one of black crows' iconic adventure skis, a 102 mm wide touring ski dedicated to all types of terrain. It is made for long distances and everyday quests with a fine balance between performance and weight.
The core is built from paulownia, poplar and paulownia combined with a mix of carbon and fibreglass. The construction uses semi-cap and cap in the tip area to save weight, ABS sidewalls everywhere except the tip, plus a titanal reinforcement and titanal plate under the bindings for stability and power transfer. With a 102 mm waist width and an 18 m radius the ski is versatile both on tour and in daily use. A progressive front rocker and flared tip give great stability in carving, while a classic long camber ensures extended ski/snow contact underfoot. The progressive tail secures support and makes pivoting easy. The mounting point sits at -9 cm.
