The Leki Mezza Vario TR is an adjustable pole for ski mountaineering, touring and training. Its shaft combines aluminium and carbon, and the grip is Leki's Nordic Trigger Shark. This one comes in Naturalcarbon/Neonyellow/White.
The Vario construction adjusts continuously, so you can match the pole length to the terrain and the tour. Speed Lock 2 Plus is an external clamp that adjusts easily and has high holding force. The upper section is HTS 6.5 aluminium and the lower section PRC 1000 carbon, for a good balance of stability and low weight. The grip gives precise control and good power transfer on the climb. With the Shark Loop and the Quick Release button, you click in and out of the grip in seconds. The Nordic system only releases with the button, not in a fall. All Shark straps and gloves work with all Shark poles, but not with Leki's alpine Trigger poles. The extension below the grip makes it easy to choke down on steep sections. The Contour Binding basket has a short edge for setting your heel risers and a long edge for scraping ice off your skins. The Contour Tip is a robust tip that grips on almost any surface.
