Construction
Zen construction combines lightness and strength with Starboard's 'linear Drop stitch', a new way to sew the board. This gives you extra strength in length, giving you a better glide, extra stiffness and response. The joints on a SUP board are super important because it's often the ones that put a limit on how hard you can pump your board. The higher the pressure the more stiffness you get in your board which gives a much better experience on the water. Starboard has for several years developed a new technology that they call Heat Welding. Instead of glueing the board together as you have done for many years, they weld the new board together which gives 2 great advantages. The board gets stronger in the collection and you get a better experience on the water. As a bonus, it is no longer necessary to use glue which eventually ends up in the oceans. Zen construction is one of the absolute best constructions on the market compared to what you get for your money. So, you get a board that is both light in kilos and price without compromising on performance!
