The Phaenom FS 01 90 is an all-mountain freeski boot. With a 90 flex, it is built for comfort and shock absorption. The shell is black TPU.
The boot is a hybrid of cabrio and overlap construction with a clean design and two oversized buckles. It combines the close fit and edge control of an overlap boot with the progressive flex of a three-piece boot. The patent-pending phaenom strap replaces a third buckle on the cuff. Its elasticity creates rebound through the turn, so power reaches the ski more directly and turn initiation gets more precise. It also absorbs shock. The checkered outer sole absorbs vibrations coming up from the ski, which reduces foot and leg fatigue and makes landings softer. The sole follows ISO 23223, the same standard as GripWalk, for easier walking. Every part of the boot can be replaced, and you can swap a broken buckle at home in minutes.
The included flip chips set the forward lean at 13°, 15° or 17°. A boot fitter can adjust the shell with heat or grinding. The liner is heat mouldable but ready to ski from day one. The boot shares its design, liner and last with Phaenom's FR boot, but it has no walk mode or tech inserts.
