The Burton Family Tree Hometown Hero is a directional camber board for the whole mountain in any conditions. Burton built it for Vermont's tight trees and icy lines as a daily driver. The graphic on this version is artist Ryan Crotty's abstract mountainscapes.
The shape is Freeride Directional with 12 mm of taper, which floats the nose on deeper days. Ride it flat on the base and it feels like a twin. Put it on edge and it turns tight and quick. The profile is Directional Camber, with camber under both feet and a rockered nose, which keeps the board stable in variable conditions. The flex is twin and matches from tip to tail, but the glass is placed to stiffen the nose and tail. That gives you power and response through bumps and chopped-up snow. Burton recommends the board for intermediate to expert riders, puts the flex in the middle of the scale and rates it strongest in powder.
