The Cabrinha Contra 1 Strut is a light wind kite for freeride and foiling. With a single strut it is light and nimble. This is the 2022 model in Red/Blue.
The low weight means you can fly a smaller kite when you are on the foil. The kite drifts well, which allows low angles of attack while foiling. Rear line tension is carried through, so you can still steer the kite when it is depowered. The design is a hybrid with low drag wing tips and draft forward profiles. The single strut lets the kite twist and react quickly. Cabrinha gave it one rear line attachment option, and it relaunches easily in the lightest wind. The canopy is Nano Ripstop. The frame uses High Tenacity Dacron made for inflated kite structures. High tenacity yarns and a high thread count reduce stretch under inflation pressure, so the kite deforms less in flight. Pure Profile panels give smooth airflow over the most important part of the profile. The canopy is reinforced in the high stress areas, and the closing seams are heavy duty. You can ride the Contra 1S with a twin tip, a surfboard or a foil board.
