The Re:Flex version of Burton's Double Take toe tongue is the spare for the toe strap on Re:Flex bindings. It is shaped for the Re:Flex baseplate and works together with Double Take buckles.

The tongue is the thin plastic strip with closely spaced teeth, normally anchored on the pinkie toe side of the binding. The buckle ratchets over those teeth and pulls slack out of the strap until it sits where you want it. A binding runs two tongues, one at the ankle and one at the toe, and a complete strap is made of tongue, slider, buckle and strap. The name tells you two things. Double Take is the tongue family, and Burton's Double Take buckles are built for Double Take tongues. Re:Flex is the baseplate, and that is where this differs from the EST variant. Burton Re:Flex bindings mount on snowboards from a wide range of brands, while EST requires The Channel, so check your baseplate before ordering. Rounded teeth or a crack in the tongue means the strap can no longer hold tension.

  • Toe tongue: the toothed strip for the toe strap
  • Re:Flex: shaped for the Burton Re:Flex baseplate
  • Double Take: matches Double Take buckles
  • Broad fit: Re:Flex works on many boards
  • Single part: replaces only the worn tongue
  • Field repair: needs nothing beyond basic tools

The spare suits snowboarders on Burton Re:Flex bindings with Double Take straps. It gives the buckle something to bite into again, so the toe strap pulls down in steps and holds the boot firm from the very first turn.
