SHOP THE LOOK

Tobias is one of One Open Sky's ski experts and a very active skier himself. He loves to carve the slopes at high speed and charge down slush, moguls and untouched snow. The perfect day for him is a sunny day in the park where he can hit the rails, kickers and boxes. You can meet Tobias in the shop in Herning, where he is happy to give advice and competent guidance - so you can be sure to get the right equipment for your vacation.

Below you can see what Tobias' suitcase contains when he goes on a ski vacation.

NOTE: As this is an older blog post, we can no longer guarantee that the given products are in stock, and thus also in our webshop!

1. Oakley Snow Shell Jacket Anorak
In addition to its super cool look, it has a great fit in 4-way stretch, so I can move in it no matter what type of skiing. It's a thin jacket, so when I go randoneeing, I'm protected from the wind without overheating.

2. Line Remote Pack
Line Remote Pack is a really nice bag for the mountain. I have all the options I need. I can mount my skis on the side of the bag for hiking, there's room for all my gear. And most importantly, it has wide hip straps and a chest buckle so I don't have a bag that moves when I ride. However, I will always ride with my ABS avalanche backpack when I go into the backcountry.

3. Anon M3
There is no doubt that these goggles are the most functional glasses on the market. Changing lenses has never been easier than on Anon's magnetic lenses. The lenses are attached with 8 magnets and allow me to switch to inclement weather lenses in under 20 seconds. In addition, I have Anon's MFI neck tube, which clicks onto the outside of the frame via 4 magnets and covers my entire face. We all know that glasses fog up when you pull a neck tube up over your nose - problem solved!

4. Smith Maze
Smith Maze is a lightweight helmet that fits my head. It has good ventilation so I don't get too hot. Helmets are almost as complicated to buy as boots as they all fit very differently and we all have different head shapes.

5. Burton Crown Bonded Hoodie
I choose to wear the Burton Crown Bonded Hoodie because it's a technical hoodie that keeps me warm and dry. On the days I ride without a jacket, the hoodie is water repellent enough that I don't get wet. I choose a hooded hoodie because I want to be able to wrap myself up well if it's very windy.

6. Oakley Bib 15K/3L Forged Iron
The new black for the last few years has been bib pants. I have now surrendered to the new style myself and have never been happier with my pants. The pants go up and cover large parts of the body, protect me from the wind and provide warmth and comfort. A hot day on the mountain is optimal with this type of pants as I can ride with a nice midlayer instead of the jacket as the bib pant covers large parts of the upper body and protects from the wind.

7. Burton Gore Clutch Glove true black
I don't need the warmest gloves as I get good warmth all over my body when skiing. After testing many different models, my choice has fallen on this model from Burton. They are very durable gloves as there is skin on the inside that doesn't get cut up by the edges of my skis. At the same time, they are warm enough on cold days, but not too hot when the sun is out. I always have a pair of warm mittens in reserve.

8. Komperdell Cross Super Eco Vest with belt
The Komperdell shield is soft and comfortable and I honestly don't notice I'm wearing it. I think it fits best when, like this one, it's a full vest - it also acts as an extra layer of clothing.

9. Full Tilt Descendant 6
Full Tilt Descendant 6 with Intuition Pro Liner delivers exactly what I want from a pair of ski boots. High comfort, fully moldable liner and a 3-shell construction that always holds its shape and delivers the power transfer I need. This type of boot is also super forgiving on the shin and makes me love my ski boots and never have problems with them. Note, these are not ideal boots for the hardcore race skier.

10. Faction Prodigy 3.0 Collab
This year I will be riding a pair of Faction Prodigy 3.0 Collab. I'm especially looking forward to trying them out as my expectations are very high. The skis have a width (waist measurement) of 104 mm, which for me and my riding style is absolutely optimal. The Prodigy 3.0 Collab is made with rocker in both front and rear skis, and with a seriously good camber profile, so I can carve on the piste at high speed and charge down slush, moguls and untouched snow without having to go into rear weight.

Without hesitation, I mounted a pair of Look Pivot bindings on the skis. These are the bindings on the market with the highest elasticity and shortest mounting points. The skis can really work on any surface without being restricted by the bindings. I always want to be able to go into the park and have a bit of fun, so twintip skis are ideal for me.
