At One Open Sky, we don't run kitesurfing courses ourselves. But we know how important it is to get a proper course - both in terms of safety, learning, equipment and what you come home with after the course. We've been working with kitesurfing schools for the past +20 years since the sport first came to Denmark.
If you're in Jutland or Funen, there's only one obvious choice in our opinion - Kitesurfkursus.dk. We work with the school, so we know that the equipment they use is among the very best and latest on the market - and as a student at kitesurfkusus.dk you can get exclusive discounts at One Open Sky if you want to buy your own kitesurf equipment after the course.

THEORY
On the day of the course, you'll start by getting the necessary introduction to safety and important aspects of the sport and equipment. The theory helps prepare you for what you will encounter out on the water and gives you confidence in how to react in different situations. The theory part is mandatory for the best and safest experience.
KITES ON THE WATER
Now the theory is understood. That means we're going on the water. To start with, we don't have a board, as it's all about getting to know the kite. Being strapped to a kite is a fun experience, so this is where the main focus should be. After you've learned how to maneuver the kite and understand how the theory feels in practice, we take the board out.
EXERCISES & THE BOARD
Once we've taken the board out, we'll learn how to combine theory with kite exercises and hopefully get on the board. It can be a little tricky to keep track of, but it's a fun learning experience where you keep getting smarter, and we usually succeed in the end.
EVALUATION
At the end of the day, the day's teaching is reviewed and evaluated. The instructor will decide individually how you can move forward on your own.
