We are confident that we can find the right ski boot for you. We want to give you a guarantee for that. We give you a FIT GUARANTEE on your ski boots.
If you listen to our advice, we guarantee you'll get a boot that fits. In the unlikely event of a problem, you can always come in after your ski vacation and have your boot adjusted. If we can't solve your problem, we will of course exchange your boot for another one. We will deduct 80% of the purchase price of the old boot from the new one. The fit guarantee is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. The warranty can only be used in the store where you purchased the boot (One Open Sky in Herning or Copenhagen). It is not possible to get a refund on the warranty when the boot is used.
With the right ski boot you experience perfect control over your skis, the freedom to enjoy skiing, blue skies and white snow. If the wrong ski boot hurts, freezes your toes or makes you sleep, you can't possibly think about freshly groomed slopes, carving turns with plenty of power or happy skiing with friends and family. If your ski boot is too big, your feet may be comfortable, but it's making your skiing worse. If you have to move your foot two centimeters inside the boot before you make contact with the boot shell, you'll have a heavy "ratchet" at the tip of the ski. This results in imprecise steering and less control in your skiing.
The right boot is not noticeable during the day. It only needs to be tightened once in a while in the lift and it doesn't need to be re-tightened after a few hours. The foot and especially the heel are fixed in the boot and the skier has perfect contact with the skis. The boot is easy to buckle and stays on the foot even when the buckles are open.
We have many different tools to help you. If you already have a boot, bring it with you and we can tell you if we can work with your old boot or if you need a new one that fits your foot better. If you don't already have a boot, just bring your feet.
One Open Sky is one of the few specialty stores that carries the full range of the Fischer Vacuum Fit concept - a concept where you get a unique anatomically adapted ski boot. The Fischer boots are made of a plastic material that softens around the toes, foot, heel, ankle and calf by heating in a special oven. The foot is then placed in the boot and a cooling bag and a vacuum bag are pulled around the entire boot. Using compressed air, the boot is pressed into the optimal fit around the foot. The boot is then cooled. With this system, you get an optimal fit around the foot with a tight fit where you need it and space around bunions and knuckles. In this way, you get a boot that is 100% customized to your foot.
The vast majority of modern ski boots are moldable to some degree and can therefore be adapted to most feet with great success. A ski boot's liner (inner boot) reacts to heat and pressure and this is where our bootfitters at One Open Sky will start customizing your next boot if your feet have some sensitive points that require a little extra space. If working with the inner boot isn't enough, we can expand directly on the shell to ensure the necessary space. More and more ski shops have realized that there is a need for custom insoles that fit the skier's foot anatomy exactly. If you have an extra 10 minutes when you visit One Open Sky, and maybe you demand a little more from your ski boot fit, we make 3D engineered insoles. Your foot anatomy is scanned by our Bootdoc machine, which creates a holistic picture of how your personal insole should be shaped.
At One Open Sky, we also have pre-shaped insoles based on the arch type of the foot. The pre-shaped sole can be fitted directly into the boot and replaces the flat base sole found in all new boots. The pre-shaped sole allows the foot to relax more in the boot and is made of a softer material than the 3D engineered sole, ensuring better comfort.
We've adopted a common cue culture when bootfitting ski boots. Which means that you draw a number, as you know from your bakery, and that number determines when it's your turn to get a new pair of ski boots made or your current ones fixed.
