The Fischer Ultralite Crown EF is a light classic cross-country ski with a fishscale pattern, here in a set with the Control Step-In IFP binding. Fischer made it for skiers of every level. The ski is grey-green with a black and yellow tail.
The fishscale is Vario Crown, which combines single, double and gliding crown. It gives efficient power transfer and good glide. Efficient Forward makes the body of the ski more elastic, so the kick is smooth and forgiving. The AIR TEC Basalite core uses special air channels in light woods to save weight, and basalt fibres keep the flex the same whatever the temperature. Power Layer is a 0.2 mm laminate of natural fibres and resin that also keeps the weight down. The base is Protec with Speed Grinding 2.0, a universal stone grind that lets the ski glide well in all snow. At 194 cm the sidecut is 49-45-47 mm, and Fischer lists the weight as 1320 g.
The Control Step-In IFP is a classic recreational binding. You step in, and a clear click tells you it is closed. The binding sits on the ski's IFP plate and can be moved without tools. The Turn Lock lever is easy to grip and protected against opening by itself. The Classic Flexor has a 7.0 flex and a 45° working angle.
