The JP Ultimate Wave in S-TEC construction is a high-performance wave board for down-the-line and side-onshore conditions with a focus on radical wave riding.
Shaper Werner Gnigler has blended the Magic Wave swallow tail with the Ultimate Wave nose geometry, so the board can be ridden more vertically with better lip control while remaining reliable in everything from medium to XXL waves. A straight centre scoop rocker with increased bottom curve along the rails, a refined swallow tail for maximum grip in high-speed turns and soft rails deliver early planing combined with fast carving and great rail grip. The bottom has moderate Vee in the nose, a single concave between the straps and slight Vee at the tail. The fin setup is a quad with four slot boxes, where the side fin boxes are shortened, and JP recommends 2x Multi Wave plus 2x Side Wave 10. The S-TEC construction makes the board about 500 grams lighter by removing paint and using less EVA, while durability is maintained with S-glass, Biax-Carbon, UD Carbon X-wrapping, Innegra nose reinforcement and PVC Omega stringers. The board ships without fins.
