The Oakley Wintertide Scratched Hoodie in Pitch Black is a softshell hoodie for skiers and snowboarders who need a mid layer with real weather protection. It runs an FN Dry 10K/5K construction with a Hydrofree DWR finish.
The face fabric is 92 percent polyester and 8 percent elastane, so it stretches with your movement instead of fighting it. The inside is 100 percent polyester and adds a soft, warm surface against the body. Oakley rates the FN Dry membrane at 10,000 mm of water column with 5,000 g/m2 of vapour passing out over a day, which means you can ride through light snow and damp air without getting wet from the inside. The Hydrofree DWR finish makes water bead off the surface, so the fabric does not soak up moisture and turn heavy. A side entry zipper opens things up without breaking the clean front, and kangaroo pockets keep hands warm between runs. Elasticated hem and cuffs shut out draughts. Oakley lists the weight at 340 grams, and the cut is roomy enough to sit over a base layer.
