Middle and ring finger share a single compartment so they warm each other, while the index finger and thumb stay separate and keep the dexterity you need for straps, zips and poles. The shell mixes 55 percent polyester, 35 percent goat skin leather and 10 percent nylon: the leather absorbs abrasion and adds friction, the nylon keeps the weight down. An HDry membrane forms a waterproof barrier against wet snow and firms up the construction at the same time, which improves both fit and durability.
