The Head Porsche 7 Series is a 70 mm waisted piste ski, here as a set with the Protector EVO PR 13 GW binding. The ski was developed with Porsche and takes its precision from giant slalom racing.
The layup is a Worldcup sandwich with a full wood core reinforced with carbon and aluminum alloy. That gives power and a quick response. EMC sits in the front and rear of the ski. Ceramic piezo plates convert kinetic energy into electric energy, which is then used to damp vibrations. As a result, the ski runs smoother and more stable. The profile is called Speedrocker. A small tip rise is combined with standard camber. That makes the ski easy to turn and gives strong edge grip on both firm and softer snow. The base is RD Race Structured UHM C, the same type Worldcup technicians use. At 170 cm, the sidecut is 124-70-109 mm and the radius is 13.1 m. At the same length, the ski weighs 2210 g without binding.
The Protector EVO PR 13 GW has a DIN range of 4-13 and mounts on PowerRail. The heel has Full Heel Release and releases 180°, horizontally and vertically, in forward and backward twisting falls. The reworked heel makes step-in and step-out easier. The toe is a VX toe with BTR kinematics, which keeps the release value constant in backward twisting falls. The binding fits alpine boots and GripWalk boots.
