The Salomon Depart 1.0 is a twin tip freestyle ski for the experienced skier who wants to express themselves in the park, in powder and on side hits.
The ski is built as a true twin tip, where tip and tail share the same pattern so you can ride equally well forwards and backwards. The profile follows a Rocker-Camber-Rocker design that gives a versatile character with both float and pop. The core is a Karuba and Poplar full woodcore, where karuba contributes low weight and inertia while poplar provides the right flex and a lively push. Underfoot runs a Ti Binding Reinforcement, a titanal insert edge-to-edge through the whole ski, for maximum power and better edge grip on hard snow. Fibreglass layers add structure and steering, and Full Sandwich Sidewalls ensure stability and precision with good edge grip and smooth ski-to-snow contact. The ski is aimed at advanced freestyle skiers who use the whole mountain as a playground and switch between jumps, rails and powder. The Depart 1.0 comes as ski only without bindings, so you can set up your own preferred configuration.
