The PIEPS Mini IPS is a compact avalanche transceiver that brings PIEPS' advanced technology into a small, easily carried format.
The transceiver works with three antennas and sends and receives at 457 kHz, and it suits beginners and experienced backcountry users alike. The Interference Protection System (IPS) compensates for electronic and metallic interference in send mode, while Ghost Signal Elimination filters out signals that do not come from a transceiver, keeping the search cleaner. Search Assist Plus guides you visually through the search with simple pictograms that show your search pace, and the precise marking function helps in multiple burial situations. A motion sensor drives Auto Search-to-Send, which automatically switches from search back to send mode when no movement is detected, adding safety during a secondary avalanche. With Bluetooth you can update the firmware, adjust settings, run a group check and practise with training scenarios in the PIEPS app. The transceiver is built robustly for alpine terrain, runs on two AAA batteries and offers long runtime with more than 400 hours on alkaline and more than 600 hours on lithium. It was tested by the Deutscher Alpenverein (DAV) with a rating of good to very good.
