The Leki Mezza Race TR is a carbon ski mountaineering pole built for both touring and racing. It has Leki's Nordic Trigger Shark system and a grip extension. This one comes in Bright Red/Violet/Neonyellow.
The Carbon Composite shaft makes the pole very light yet stable. The Nordic Trigger Shark grip was developed for Nordic disciplines and gives precise control and good power transfer on the climb. The strap clicks into the grip with the Shark Loop, and the Quick Release button gets you out again in seconds. The Nordic system only releases with the button, not in a fall. All Shark straps and gloves work with all Shark poles, but not with Leki's alpine Trigger poles. The foam extension below the grip lets you choke down easily on steep sections and traverses. The Contour Binding basket has a short edge for setting your heel risers and a long edge for scraping ice off your skins. It grips well on steep terrain and can be swapped to suit the conditions. The Contour Tip is a robust tip for precise pole plants on almost any surface.
