Double-layer acrylic is the heart of the Oakley Beanie Ellipse in Black/White. It is a straightforward knit beanie for skiers and snowboarders who want warmth and a contrast logo with no fuss attached.
The beanie is knitted from 100 percent acrylic and built in two layers. Two layers of knit trap a pocket of air between them, and that trapped air is what holds the warmth, not the yarn itself. Acrylic brings one big advantage here: the fibres absorb almost no water. The beanie therefore stays light when snow melts into it, and it dries quickly on a radiator so you can pull it back on the next morning.
