The Salomon Elixir Micro Down is an ultra-light hooded down jacket for women, made for active days in the mountains where low weight and warmth have to go hand in hand.
The jacket is filled with goose down with a high fill power of 800 and a 90 percent down, 10 percent feather split, certified to the RDS standard for responsibly sourced down. For insulation it adds HeiQ XReflex technology powered by Xefco, a radiant barrier that reflects the body's own heat back and makes it possible to reduce weight and bulk by around 25 percent without losing insulating power. The shell in 100 percent polyamide is light and tightly woven and is treated with a water-repellent DWR finish, so light showers and blowing snow bead off. A high chin guard closes off cold and draughts around the neck, and the hood provides extra coverage when the weather changes. The jacket is easy to pack away and takes up minimal space in the bag, so it can always come along as a warm mid layer or outer layer. The fit is regular and allows freedom of movement, whether you are skiing, hiking or wearing it every day. The total weight is just 284 grams.
