The Salomon Elixir Hybrid Hood Insulated is an insulated hooded mid layer for women that combines warmth, freedom of movement and low weight for skiing, hiking and mountain outings.
The jacket is built as a hybrid, where core zones are body-mapped and insulated while other areas consist of a water-repellent stretch knit, so you can move freely without overheating. The insulation combines two technologies: HeiQ XReflex powered by Xefco, a radiant barrier that reflects the body's heat back, and PrimaLoft Cross Core insulation, which provides light, compressible warmth. The stretch inserts are made of 79 percent polyamide and 21 percent elastane, ensuring a close, elastic cut. A windproof chin guard keeps draughts out around the neck, and the fabric wicks moisture so you stay dry during activity. The hood can be packed away when not in use, and the jacket's layering-friendly construction makes it a flexible mid layer under a shell jacket or a light outer layer on milder days. At a weight of just 340 grams it is easy to bring along and well suited to both winter sports and everyday use.
