This is the right hand version of the Burton Double Take Hammock ankle strap in Matty Black. The strap is foot specific and pairs with Double Take tongues, so it belongs on the right binding to work as intended.
The ankle strap is the wide, padded piece that lies across the instep and presses the boot down into the baseplate. It is the link that carries your input into the board, which is why a worn, cracked or wrongly fitted strap is obvious from the first turn. A complete strap on a Burton binding is made up of tongue, slider, buckle and the strap itself, and this part is the strap in the Hammock configuration. Burton points out that many binding components are specific to the left or right foot, and ankle straps fall into that group. This one is the right. The Hammock strap belongs to the Double Take system and works with Double Take tongues, so tongue, buckle and strap all need to stay inside the same family.
- Right foot: foot specific strap for the right binding
- Double Take: compatible with Double Take tongues
- Ankle strap: the wide piece over the instep
- Hammock build: Burton's own strap construction
- Matty Black: matte black finish
- Loose component: swaps without new bindings
The strap is for snowboarders on Burton Double Take bindings who need to restore the right side. It gives the binding its full hold back, spreading pressure evenly across the boot again rather than concentrating it in one spot.
