The Cabrinha Contra 3 Strut is a big light wind kite for freeriding in threshold winds. Its three struts give forward drive and a stable canopy. This is the 2022 model in Red/Blue.
The Contra was first launched in 2003 and has become the light wind kite in the Cabrinha line. The three strut frame lets you drive forward on a traditional kiteboard. It also keeps the canopy stable and adds high end range. The design is a hybrid with low drag wing tips and draft forward profiles. Cabrinha refined the low end for strong upwind performance in very little wind. The steering is agile and responsive with more power delivery, so a big kite feels like a small one. It relaunches easily in light winds. The canopy is Nano Ripstop. The frame uses High Tenacity Dacron made for inflated kite structures. High tenacity yarns and a high thread count reduce stretch under inflation pressure, so the kite deforms less in flight. Pure Profile panels give smooth airflow over the most important part of the profile. The canopy is reinforced in the high stress areas, and the closing seams are heavy duty.
