The Blackout colourway runs plain black with no print, and the piece is knitted from stretchy, moisture-wicking polyester.

The fabric is 100 percent polyester in a knit with a lot of give. That stretch lets the balaclava follow the jaw and neck instead of gripping, and it drops down around the neck without losing its shape. The polyester moves moisture away from the skin, so you are not left with a wet layer under the helmet after a long hike. At the face, the knit is built to overlap, which means you choose how much stays covered. An elastic adjuster with an elastic coulisse pulls the piece in, so you can run it tight in a storm and loose again once it clears. Linear stitching keeps the seams straight and strong where the fabric stretches most. Two embroidered Oakley B1B logos sit on the forehead and the cheek. The balaclava is made to go under a helmet rather than over it, and Oakley calls the cut a Performance Fit.

100 percent polyester knit: serious stretch

Moisture wicking: no wet layer under the helmet

Overlapping knit at the face: choose your coverage

Elastic adjuster with coulisse: tight or loose

Linear stitching: strong seams in the stretch zones

Embroidered B1B logos on brow and cheek

Performance Fit: built to sit under a helmet

Printed Pile Balaclava is for skiers and snowboarders who keep riding when visibility drops.
